My Father’s Day post got a good reaction from my father, and from various readers whose hearts were warmed by the thought of cute little Bill and his toy soldiers. Whilst sifting through some old family photos the other day I came across this one of me unwrapping the soldiers on Christmas day, 1977 (look how much hair Bill’s Head had!):

The chronology is a little off in my memory (and in the original story), because the pictures indicate that the doll house was the previous year (look at Bill dressed up like a football fan!):
